Emergency Services
The Emergency Department is a Level IV trauma center and has physicians on duty 24 hours a day. Being close to a recreational lake, a variety of national forest activities, including off-road sports, hiking and camping, require nurses to be prepared for many types of emergencies.
The Emergency Department staff work closely with emergency medicine physicians, Lake County and surrounding region Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel to ensure patients receive exceptional emergency services. An onsite heliport provides air transportation to and from hard-to reach mountain locations and transports critical patients who require specialized care to trauma centers in nearby cities.
